What you get when you buy direct

We recently explained our pricing in full. This is the other side of that story: what buying directly from us gives you.

Direct is cheaper, usually 20 to 30% less than the same theme on the marketplace. The bigger difference is everything a direct license adds around the theme.

Support and updates

A direct license comes with twelve months of support from our team: the same people who built the theme and know every corner of it, rather than a queue somewhere else. A marketplace license carries six months and a single ticket, answered after the direct threads, so the gap between the two is half a year and a place in the queue.

Updates work differently too. Buy direct and they show up in your dashboard like any other theme or plugin. One click and you’re current. No logging into a marketplace account, hunting for the latest ZIP, and re-uploading it by hand.

Those two are most of what you deal with after the purchase: getting an answer when something is wrong, and staying on the current version without thinking about it.

What keeps arriving

A theme is not finished the day it ships, and the work that comes after is where a direct license makes most of its difference.

Our integration plugins are add-ons that sit on top of the theme and extend what it can do. They come with a direct license. This is where the newer work goes, so buying direct is how you get it.

We also keep building new demo layouts after a theme ships. Direct customers get each one as it comes out, ready to import.

Licensing and your account

A marketplace license covers a single site. Direct, you can pick an agency license and run the theme across many client sites under one purchase. If you build sites for a living, this alone changes the math.

Everything you buy lives in your Hub at hub.jkdevstudio.com: licenses, downloads, documentation, changelogs, and a public roadmap you can vote on. Feature requests reach us directly there. It’s one place to manage your products instead of digging through a marketplace dashboard.

Already bought on Envato?

You don’t need to buy again. From your Hub account you can upgrade the license you already hold and get everything above, or buy a support period on its own and leave the license as it is. Either takes a couple of clicks.

Same theme, same team. Buying direct just gives you the better version of the deal.

Curious why any of this changed? One post has the numbers, the other has the story behind them.

Why our prices changed Envato dropped exclusivity, and why that is good news
